Lazy sundays
I’ve had a lovely weekend back in Glasgow following my second week of rural placement - it’s nice to be back in the big city with all my friends :) but probably should head back soon. Got my first case report in - misdiagnosed RA which was actually psoriatic arthritis so that was interesting - I love rheumatology :D No TV is a bit weird - but nice being down with people who didnt...

Got to use the answer ‘Pigeon fancier’s lung’ in a real life situation today. Medicine is a LOL, consultant definitely not impressed when I got the giggles. On a rural placement at the moment, having a great time, internet a bit sketchy but there you go….

I hope this is the end of Murdoch
I really don’t even know that the papers have that much influence over anything anymore. I read any news website that I can find if has the story I’m looking for, I know all their political leanings which I simply bear in mind whilst reading so I can get a truer sense of what’s going on. So to be honest, I don’t know why politicians, Conservative and Labour alike cosy up to...

Anyone not that surprised at the NOTW? News International make me sick, however always knew they were assholes… All their papers are right wing rags, the times included.

Car incompetence and misadventures
So, I was coming home from work tonight (with car number 2! Remember the one that got towed away, I got rid of that and got a new one..), and a red light with like a little stick comes on and starts flashing. Thank god Craig from work was with me, just I was just like ‘What is that? I have no idea’ Craig advised me to take the car to the garage, where we phoned his friend Donald, my...

Bored and sick in bed
Ho-hum. I’ve got tonsillitis yet again, so I’m pretty bored. I’ve slept all day and now can’t get back to sleep, don’t feel like doing any science work so I’m just going to ramble here on tumblr. I feel like such a geek, uni is just over for the summer and already I want to go back. Mainly its because I spend all my money during summer holidays and therefore I...

Osborne to ringfence part of your brain
The chancellor said the sensible bit of your brain had to be protected from the bit that wants a tablet computer, an espresso machine and the £50 cable that connects them together for no reason. In his annual Mansion House speech Mr Osborne will set out plans to build a tiny fence inside your head patrolled by teeny weeny Dobermans. A Treasury spokesman said: “If a greedy, stupid...

Simple things that make me happy
I work in a deli…get 100g of whatever, for example olives, on the scale after a customer has asked for them. I work in a lab…get my own bench space, yeah baby!

Why is work so disorganised? I was enjoying my day off, as always then get a call. Back to paid work in the lab next week so I only now have to deal with this at the weekends now! Woo hoo.

Everyone should watch this: last night's Panorama →
This is truely saddening. It’s very difficult viewing… but I think the word needs to be spread about this. How are these people even human? I really can’t understand why someone, no matter how low paid or whatever could abuse another person in this way, particularly vunerable people. I hope when I am (finally) a doctor, if I ever see anything like this going on, I have the guts...
